State Council on Mental Health and Service Area Boards
The Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration, Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD) and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD), is
soliciting applications for volunteer membership on the Governor-appointed State Council on Mental Health (SCMH), and Service Area Boards (SAS) on Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii Island (Hawaii Revised Statutes, 334-10, 11 ). The State Council on Mental Health advises the AMHD and CAMHD on statewide needs for mental health services. The SABs are the focal point of the development, delivery, and coordination of mental health services for each county. Terms of membership are for four years.
Invited to apply are: teens requiring support for emotional and behavioral development (SEBO), parents and advocates of children and youth with SEBO, consumers with serious mental illness (SMI), family members and advocates of SMI, and other interested behavioral health stakeholders.
