NOTICE TO MOTORISTS
STATEWIDE NOXIOUS INVASIVE PEST PROGRAM SURVEYS
Hawai’i Department of Transportation Federal Aid Project No. STP-1500(73)
Roadside surveys for invasive pests will be conducted on Kuhio Hwy (56) mile marker 22 to end of Kuhio Hwy (560) on Monday, March 21, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. On Tuesday, March 22, surveys for invasive pests will be conducted on Kuhio Hwy (56) mile marker 9.5 to 22 and on Kuamo’o Rd (580) from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Roadside surveys for invasive pests will be conducted on Ma’alo Road (583) and on Kaumuali’i (50) at mile marker 0 to 10 on Wednesday, March 23, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. On Thursday March 24, roadside surveys for invasive pests will be conducted on Kaumuali’i Hwy (50) at mile marker 10 to 16 and at Waimea Canyon Dr (550) at Koke’e Road between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:00 pm.
The surveys will use a slow-moving vehicle in the shoulder lane (where available) or in the right lane with a slow-moving vehicle placard at rear of the survey vehicle, with a strobe (flashing) light. No lane closures are to occur, but traffic delays are possible.
