The County of Kauai along with Earthworks Pacific, Inc. will be starting work on the Kaumuali’i Highway in the Ele’ele area, vicinity of Mahea Road/Laulea Street intersection, during this time lanes will be shifted and the public is asked to obey the speed limit of 25 mph. Work will begin on August 9th, 2021 through October 9th, 2021. This scope of work is to add traffic signals, sidewalks and a bus stop. Working hours will be Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:30pm. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution while driving through this area, observe and follow all traffic controls and posted signs and be aware of all construction personnel and equipment in the project area. It is highly recommended to use Halewili Road as an alternate route to bypass the construction zone.
