NOTICE OF PUBLICATION
LIHU’E – The Department of Public Works and Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. are announcing that construction will continue on Umi St, which will require closing portions of the street. Umi St will be open to local traffic only accessible from Rice Street on Wednesday June 10th. On Thursday June 11th Umi St will be open to thru traffic with restricted access to Lihue Plaza and the Department of Health parking lots. Work will be from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm weather permitting. The remaining scope of work on Umi St includes slurry seal and striping work.
Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work areas, use alternate routes, and to observe and follow all construction traffic controls. Please exercise caution when commuting through the work areas.
