NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Mayor’s Advisory Committee for Equal Access ("MACFEA") will hold a public hearing in the Mo’ikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A &B, located at 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Kaua’i, Hawai’i, on April 17, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter, for purposes of hearing and receiving public testimony and comments from all interested persons regarding the following item.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE
COUNTY OF KAUA’I MAYOR’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE
FOR EQUAL ACCESS POLICY for the MACFEA MEETINGS

1. The proposed amendment to the Policy for the MACFEA Meetings (hereafter "Policy") for the Mayor’s Advisory Committee for Equal Access is described below:

Organization
(a) The committee will be composed of [nine (9)] seven (7) voting members. A majority (51%) of the members shall be individuals with disabilities and/or family members of individuals with disabilities. Other members shall be advocates or representatives of agencies who work with and support individuals with disabilities. There shall be one non-voting representative from the Mayor’s Office at each meeting.

A copy of the proposed amendment will be mailed to any interested person who requests a copy and pays the required fees for the copy and the postage. Requests may be made by phone, facsimile, or by mail. All requests may be addressed to Lani Agoot, Administrative Assistant, Office of Boards and Commissions, County of Kaua’i, located at 4444 Rice Street, Suite 150, Lihue, Hawai’i 96766. Phone: (808) 241-4917. Fax: (808) 241-5127. Requests may be made up to and including the date of the public hearing.

The proposed amendment may be reviewed in person between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding State of Hawai’i Holidays), at the Office of Boards and Commissions. Proposed rules may be reviewed any time up to the date of the public hearing.

All interested persons may submit data, views, arguments, or other testimony orally or in writing, or both, concerning the proposed amendment. Data, views, arguments, or other testimony may be submitted any time up to and including the date of the public hearing, or at the public hearing itself. Data, views, arguments, or testimony may be submitted via phone, facsimile, or by mail to the address and telephone numbers listed above. Requests may be made up to and including the date of the public hearing.

MACFEA may impose a time limit for each person presenting testimony at the hearing.
