NOTICE TO MOTORISTS
STATEWIDE NOXIOUS INVASIVE PEST PROGRAM SURVEYS
Hawaii Department of Transportation Federal Aid Project No. STP-1500(73)
Roadside surveys for invasive pests will be conducted on Kaumuali’i Hwy (50), Halewili Rd (540), Waialo Rd
(541), Kuhio Hwy (56), Waapa Rd (51) at M.P. 0 – 0. 14, including Rice Street, M.P. 0.14 – 0.88, Kauai Veterans
Memorial Highway, M.P. 0.88 – M.P. 1.95, and Kapule Highway M.P. 1.95 – 3.23, Nawiliwili Rd (58), and
Ahukini Rd (570) on Wednesday March 27th from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Roadside surveys for invasive pests
will be conducted on Kuhio Hwy (56) on Thursday March 28th from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. On Friday March 29th,
roadside surveys for invasive pests will be conducted on Kaumuali’i Hwy (50) between the hours of 8:30
am and 3:00 pm. The surveys will utilize a slow moving vehicle in the shoulder lane (where available) or in
the right lane with a slow moving vehicle placard at rear of survey vehicle, and strobe flashing light. No lane
closures are to occur, but traffic delays are possible.
