 To all interested Agencies, Groups and Persons: The Kauai County Housing Agency announces a public meeting to present the DRAFT Environmental Assessment for the Waimea Huakai Affordable Housing Project.
Monday, August 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the The proposed housing development anticipates using PY 2016 HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), Program Income and Project Based Voucher Program allocations. Allocations are subject to congressional appropriation. The meeting is being held in order to present the proposed project and receive comments from the public in accordance with Chapter 343, Hawai’i Revised Statutes (HRS) and associated Title 11, Chapter 200, Hawai’i Administrative Rules (HAR); Environmental Impact Statement Rules, as well as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Parts 1500-1508) and 24 CFR Part 58; Environmental Review Procedures for Entities Assuming HUD Environmental Responsibilities. The DRAFT Environmental Assessment may be viewed online at www.kauai.gov/housing or on the Office of Environmental Quality Control website All interested persons who wish to comment on the DRAFT Environmental Assessment may do so at the Public meeting, or may submit written comments to Kaua’i County Housing Agency, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 330, Lihu’e, Hawai’i 96766, Attn: Steve Franco or via email at sfranco@kauai.gov.
