KAPA’A – The County of Kauai, Department of Public Works and Grace
Pacific LLC., are announcing that they will be performing night work for
water main valve relocation on at the intersection of Kawaihau Road and
Hau’a’ala Road on Thursday, April 21st, 2022. Work will take place from
7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Water service shutdown in the Kapa’a area is scheduled from 9:00PM
to 5:00AM, weather permitting. Water will be turned off to portions
of Hau’a’ala Road with low water pressure expected for portions of
Kawaihau Road, Nunu Road, Iwaena Road, Iwaena Loop, Pelehu Road,
and I’iwi Road. Water service will be restored when work is completed.

Businesses and residents located in the service areas are advised to prepare
for the water service shutdown by storing water to meet their needs until
water service can be restored. The waterline shutdown will affect the ability
to use all water sources including faucets, toilets, exterior hose bibs, etc.

Work will require complete lane road closure on Kawaihau Road. Traffic
will be detoured through Moa Road and Hau’a’ala Road from 7:00 PM to
5:00 AM. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution through the area,
and observe and obey all traffic controls, flaggers, posted signs while
driving through the construction work zone area. Please allow additional
travel time in anticipation of these delays.
