FOR JUDICIAL VACANCY

The Judicial Selection Commission is re-extending the deadline for applications for the judicial vacancy in the office of Chief Judge, Intermediate Court of Appeals, State of Hawai'i. The Constitution of the State of Hawai'i requires that the persons selected by the Commission be residents and citizens of the State of Hawai'i and of the United States, and have been licensed to practice law by the Hawai'i Supreme Court. A chief judge shall have been licensed for a period of not less than ten years preceding nomination.

The Judicial Selection Commission will be publishing the list of applicants to the Judicial Selection Commission website and newspapers statewide as provided under Judicial Selection Commission Rule 5, Section Two: Confidentiality A.

When the names of the applicants are published, the public will be invited to provide comments about the applicants to the Judicial Selection Commission for a specific period of time.

Applicants: The Commission invites anyone from all islands who meets the constitutional requirements and is interested in the position to apply directly to the Commission. Applicants are not required to nominate themselves.

DISCUSSION ON STATE HIGHWAY AND COUNTY ROAD CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECTS

Notice is hereby given that the HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (HDOT) will be holding its second and final round of virtual public informational meetings to discuss and solicit comments on the FINAL DRAFT STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (STIP) for FEDERAL FISCAL YEARS 2025 – 2028 (+2).
The STIP is a four-year programming implementation document that identifies STATE and COUNTY transportation projects, statewide, to be funded, in part, with Federal Highway and Transit funds.
HDOT concluded its first round of virtual meetings in May 2024, which shared the STIP development process, discussed the fiscally unconstrained FFY 2025-2028 (+2) STIP, and solicited public input. Since then, HDOT has prioritized and fiscally constrained the STIP after evaluating technical and statewide priorities, fiscal requirements, and public input. HDOT will be holding its last round of meetings to share the proposed fiscally constrained FFY 2025-2028 (+2) STIP that will be
submitted to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for approval.
The virtual public informational meeting for Kauai is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 6:30 PM. The link to attend the meeting and meeting materials will be posted on the STIP website (https://highways.hidot.hawaii.gov/stories/s/STIP-Home/63ng-czz7/) prior to the meeting. Also, visit the STIP website to view the constrained Kauai FFY 2025-2028 (+2) STIP program, project location maps, and survey results.
