THOMAS &Quot;TOM&Quot; UEUNTEN Thomas Masaru Ueunten passed away peacefully at home in Monterey Park, California on January 5, 2024. He was born on July 10, 1935 in Lawai, Kauai, Hawaii, the ninth of 13 children born to Senfu and Kama Ueunten. Tom played football for and graduated from Kauai High School Class of 1953. He subsequently joined the Army. In 1975, he married Mariko Yamaoka. Tom was a machinist for Allied Signal/ Honeywell in Torrance for 40 years until his retirement in 1997. Tom enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, gardening and trips to Las Vegas. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and always smiling personality. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Mariko and is survived by two brothers, George and Marvin, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews in Hawaii and on the Mainland. Tom was inurned alongside his wife at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, California. Per Tom’s wishes, no services were held.
